Do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the Law.
It is a very little known fact that Kep Ra Thoth and I are making music together. Naturally, we have been toying with the idea for some years now. Well, both of us are ready to devote serious time and energy to making what we call “Blue and Gold Metal,” a distinct and variation (in my mind) of “Black Metal” minus the typical anti-christian/satanic and misanthropic themes common to that style. Hell, even the name of our band reflects this: “Black to the Blind” which means only those who are “of us” or potentially “of us” will feel the Blue and Gold of the Goddess pulsing through our music.
Well, that aside, I coming along with our version of Gustav Holst’s “Mars” from “The Planets” which we are calling “Ra Hoor, Bringer of War” in honor of the Lord of the Aeon. Just a few moments ago I mixed down a version and sent it to iTunes and I have to say, it sounds amazing! There are still some things to add, some engineering to attend to and some adjustments to make. Overall, though, I am quite pleased with the project so far.
Personally, I have always been inspired by Black Metal, especially of the Nordic variety. Not surprisingly, I have started working on a cover of “Mother North” by Satyricon. This, too, will be on the first album tentatively called “Delight to Slay” in honor of Liber AL vel Legis and the Lord of the Aeon. (In case you haven’t figured out by now, KRT and I are called Thelemites.)
In the near future, I will make a new MySpace page in addition to a page on Reverb Nation. I am confident that our music will fill a niche for those fans of extreme music who have outgrown much of the imagery and motifs of modern and classic Black Metal; especially the satanic imagery. After all, you can’t be a Satanist unless deep down inside you’re just a naughty Christian seeking to rebel.
We are neither.
Love is the law, love under will.
