I have resolved my installation issues with OpenOffice.Org 3.  I have also resolved my issues with KDE.  However, I have been using GNOME and Xfce a bit and I will probably stick with KDE for now.  I now have some new things to figure out.  I am now have having a slightly annoying configuration issue with Synaptic Package Manager – it won’t authenticate packages and reports that it is unable to download the authentication keys from the Debian repositories.  I have checked the URLs and they are valid.  The packages will still install.   However, I prefer them to be authenticated!

I am currently having some issues with my Linux desktop running Debian 4.x code-named Etch.  I love the Debian distribution.  All of my best Linux experiences have occurred while using a Debian-based system.

This morning, I ran the Synaptic Package Manager for the first time in a long time.  I updated a few items, and installed a few new items.  Now, I am having problems with KDE progressing past the loading of services.  I can get GNOME to work in fail-safe mode.  I loaded it up, and then checked the Services.

I was running, for some unknown reason, Apache and Apache2 along with Samba – three services I have no use for on my desktop.  I stopped them, and I removed them with the package manager.  t’s getting better.  It’s takes me about a minute to log out of GNOME.  Perhaps it’s time to make a switch to a more minimalistic environment?  I have been desiring to make this adjustment to my desktop environment for a while now.

The best part?  I still feel totally confident that my data is intact and secure, despite minor configuration issues.  This sort of thing was never a reality an M$ OS.

There are some slight issues with the NOXboard forum template.  There are some issues to be worked out in terms of making sure all of the form elements have the same look.  Some buttons, check boxes, and text boxes are not configured in the FireBoard CSS file.

Once these bugs are worked out, the forums will look even better.  As they are now, the various forums are fully functional and practically all of the design elements conform to the site theme.

I am pleased to announce that NightOfPan.Com has opened the NOXboard forums.  They are only visible to registered users.  Registration is quick and easy.  The boards will be lightly moderated to prevent abuse of the site.

Yesterday, November 9, CV (2008 e.v.), I celebrated my 24th Feast of Life.  This year, I kept forgetting all about my birthday.  It just hasn’t been a priority of mine.  It was a fine evening.  I went to the Smiling Moose for a few drinks with some friends.

It’s 3:37 am – time to work on developing NightOfPan.Com.

Barack Obama, as everyone knows, has been elected to the office of President of the United States of America.  There has been talk from some sectors of mankind that he is an Anti-Christ (Bahlasti!  Ompehda!), or that there are various occult pieces of numerological evidence that he is “evil” incarnate.  Good and Evil are not absolutes, but relative.

First, know that these petty complaints are coming from those with an agenda, or those that abhor the thought of a purple man holding such high office.  These are the wails of the low-men deep seated in their biggotry.

With regards to the “Anti-Christ” thing – it is has been my experience that you have to be a Christist to be a Satanist.  It does not matter what Obama’s religious affiliations are.  As soon as his relations with his religious allies became an issue, Barack distanced himself from his radical minister.  I am of the opinion that Barack used his religious affiliations to promote his political campaign amongst the disaffected members of his church.  He used the so-called demonic forces to his advantage.  The morals of such a gesture are left to the individual Magician.

In the Book of the Law it is written that the slaves shall serve – it does not say that the slaves are exclusively pale or purple, etc.  I see these slave as the decadent false elite described by Nietzsche; those who are cowardly and completely averse to any pain which accompanies the changes of natural growth and healthy variation.

The fact is, Barack Obama is not a Thelemite and is, on at least one plane, a puppet of the Magical Forces at work in the sphere of politics.  It is known that politicians have promised the world to their constituents in order to secure the necessary votes.  Only Barack’s deeds bound to his words, and the effect they have, will determine whether or not he is a great President.  Those of us incarnated as citizens of the USA should be leary about letting ourselves be caught up in a cult of his personality.

After all, he says many of the right things according to those responsible for electing him into Office, and I personally thought I wouldn’t see a purple man as President Elect until well into my middle-age.  The results of this election, from one perspective, simply provide an example of the Current of the Aeon at work amongst the many and the known.

Barack’s deeds in his new Office will tell us what we need to know about his term as President of United States of America.  Will the Obama/Biden administration act as the perfect karmic compliment to the Bush/Cheney administration?  However Obama enacts his policies as President, his administration will change how the U.S.A. is perceived and how the U.S.A. acts within the group Hadit of that star called the Earth’s populace.
